ONE SMALL CONTRIBUTION CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I was the first one to receive a college degree in my family, including past generations. It took me a long time to achieve that but I am grateful for the opportunity to graduate with a business degree from the Haas Business School of the University of California, Berkeley at the age of 35 and obtained my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license a few years later. It took me that long to fulfill my ambition because I didn’t have the financial support nor the opportunities when I finished my high school education back in Malaysia.

When I was introduced to Kid City program back in 2013, I realized that I can give back to the community to help students from low income families to achieve their goals for higher education. During my past seven years as a board member, I have been touched by the students’ stories of how this program has helped them to be the first college graduates in their families. Many have gone back to the center to help and support the next generation. I am very proud to be part of Kid City and I encourage everyone to help make our students’ dreams come true. This year we cannot hold our annual fundraising event because of COVID-19. However, we are planning to raise donations from people who care about our next generation to become leaders and educators by donating to this program.
